It was one of the most anticipated courtroom events in Italy's history, with evidence to include testimony on alleged orgy-like parties at Berlusconi's villa and phone-tap transcripts featuring girls who were said to be paid handsomely to entertain male guests.

59 bodies found in mass gravesMore than 50 bodies were found in mass graves in the same area of Mexico where 72 migrants were massacred last year. Officials in the northern state of Tamaulipas said they found the bodies as part of an investigation into the March 25 abduction of a busload of passengers. A statement by the Tamaulipas prosecutor's office said an investigation led to the arrests of 11 suspects and the freeing of five captives. It did not identify the suspects or freed victims.

U.S., Colombia agree on free-trade pactThe United States and Colombia reached a deal on a free-trade pact that the White House says is a vital part of President Obama's economic agenda. The administration said the agreement came together after Colombia agreed to offer greater protections for workers and union leaders.

Two Navy pilots killed in fighter crashTwo pilots were killed when a Navy F/A-18 jet crashed near Naval Air Station Lemoore in central California. The jet crashed in a field about half a mile from the base. There was no word on the cause of the crash.
