A worker at Massage Envy in Edina has been charged with sexual assault after one of his clients accused him of touching her under her underwear.

Matthew Ryan Perry, 40, was massaging the woman on Sept. 2 when he started touching her inner thighs, according to the criminal charge. Perry put his hand inside her underwear, the charges allege.

The woman told police she was in shock, got dressed, left the room and called police. When an officer interviewed Perry, he said he thought the woman was making "sexually suggestive movements," including touching him as he moved around the table. Perry said he thought he "got kind of turned on" and "something was happening" when he touched the woman sexually, the complaint said.

He said he was uncomfortable after his client got startled.

A call to the manager of Massage Envy was not immediately returned.
