Hockey Day Minnesota will have a very St. Paul feel this year, as construction crews have started building the ice rink on the tarmac at St. Paul's Holman Field municipal airport.

The refrigerated outdoor rink will host three days of hockey Jan. 16-18.

On Jan. 17 -- the official Hockey Day Minnesota -- high school games on the airport rink will feature Hill-Murray, St. Paul Johnson, St. Thomas Academy, Cretin-Derham Hall, Rochester Lourdes and the Duluth Northern Stars.

Events will be linked live to hundreds of active duty Minnesota National Guard members stationed in Kuwait, thanks to Serviing our Troops.
