Word of the week: Youtubeur

December 6, 2016 at 5:22PM

Definition: One who puts up videos on — duh — YouTube.

Sample usage: "I've made over $2 in ad revenue since I became a Youtubeur who reviews commercial-grade burlap."

Popularity: It's a French word, taken from the 2017 "Petit Robert" dictionary. You could say "YouTuber," but that sounds like you're insulting someone for resembling a potato. "Youtubeur" sounds continental and sophisticated, even if your channel consists of drunken Russians lighting their pants on fire.
