Emergency crews responded to a deadly crash on Interstate 94 in St. Croix County near Hudson on Friday night, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

According to authorities: A semitrailer truck was parked on the shoulder of I-94 westbound due to mechanical difficulties, when a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue crashed into it shortly after 11 p.m. Dustin Kadlec, 22, of Woodbury, was driving the Oldsmobile as it veered onto the shoulder behind the semi. Kadlec struck a cement highway barrier, then rear-ended the semi. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Benjamin Johnson, 45, of Spring Lake Park, the driver of the semi, had no reported injuries. The crash is under investigation and the semi unit will be inspected.
