An 86-year-old Woodbury man remains in critical condition after being struck by a car on Monday.

Robert Slipka was crossing the street just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of Lake Road and Devonshire Drive, which does not have stoplights or a marked crosswalk.

He was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, according to Sgt. Curt Zacharias of the Woodbury Police Department. The driver of the car that struck Slipka, 48-year-old Patricia Amusan of Woodbury, was not injured.

It does not appear that alcohol or excessive speeds were a factor in the accident, Zacharias said, and the accident is being reviewed by the city attorney. The Woodbury Public Safety Department and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.
