Wonderful morning light

And cooperative gulls

The light Monday morning just before and during sunrise was excellent for photographs. I found some cooperative Ring-billed Gulls fishing in a neighborhood lake. They cruised back and forth, watching for fish, sometimes making acrobatic turns and drops to take try to make a catch. Some of them caught what I considered very large fish (bullheads) for a bird that size. I went out hoping to find roosting turkeys that a friend told me about. I arrived on people time, but the birds left their roosting site on sun time, which made me an hour late. Perhaps tomorrow. And if not turkeys, the gulls should be flying again.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
