A woman was shot to death at an American Legion post on the Iron Range, and a man she knew was arrested, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday at the legion post in Aurora, according to the East Range Police Department.
The identity of the 49-year-old victim has yet to be released. The 51-year-old suspect, from Aurora, remains held in the St. Louis County jail in Virginia pending charges.
"The suspect and victim were known [to] each other, and no other suspects are being sought at this time," a statement from police read. Authorities have yet to disclose the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
