A woman who was fatally shot at a convenience store on the East Side of St. Paul on Monday night has been identified as Lynnae L. Gallop, 37, of St. Paul.
The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Quick Stop Market in the 600 block of Payne Avenue. A man who worked at the store told police that Gallop tried to stab him and he shot her.
Officers and paramedics tried to resuscitate the woman, but she died at the scene.
No arrests have been made.
Police have said little else about the shooting. It was not clear whether Gallop and the store employee knew each other. Authorities have not released a possible motive or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
