Woman's body recovered from Red River in Moorhead

A woman's body was recovered Tuesday evening from the Red River in Moorhead, Minn.

A kayaker paddling the river near Memorial Park in downtown Moorhead spotted the woman about 6:15 p.m. and called 911, said police Sgt. Scott Kostohryz.

The area is heavily wooded, he said.

The woman has not been identified and the cause of death hasn't yet been determined.

Police don't suspect foul play.
