Woman's body recovered from Lake Bemidji

The caller reported seeing an object floating in the water near the tourist information center.

Emergency responders recovered the body of a woman from Lake Bemidji just after noon Wednesday.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said a caller to 911 reported seeing an object floating near the Bemidji Tourist Information Center that appeared to be a human body.

The body was taken to the Beltrami County Coroner's Office for an autopsy and identification.

No further information was available Wednesday evening.
