A woman fatally shot in north Minneapolis on Sunday morning marks the city's 10th homicide of 2021.

Around 6:20 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 3200 block of Logan Avenue N. and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police provided medical care until firefighters arrived at the scene, but the victim died shortly after arriving at a hospital. The medical examiner will release the name of the victim when identification is complete.

Police made an arrest in the case later Sunday.

Police ask that anyone with information on the shooting call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips are anonymous.

On Thursday, Minneapolis police responded to a fatal stabbing and a triple shooting within the span of three hours, which became the city's eighth and ninth homicides of 2021.
