A woman who died in a house fire in south Minneapolis this week has been identified.

The predawn blaze Sunday killed 66-year-old Karen M. Gherity, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Gherity was alone in the 1½-story home when the fire broke out about 3:20 a.m. in the 4200 block of 25th Avenue S., fire officials said.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the flames. A Fire Department spokesman said the blaze does not appear to be suspicious.
