Woman is found dead in St. Paul under suspicious circumstances

July 21, 2014 at 8:23AM

St. Paul police are investigating what they describe as the suspicious death of a woman found unresponsive in a vehicle late Saturday.

Officers patrolling the West Side found the 22-year-old in a vehicle near Robert and George streets.

Paramedics were called, and the woman was taken to Regions Hospital, where she died Sunday, authorities said.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses, and have tentatively identified the woman, but are withholding the name until it is confirmed.

Police also have developed preliminary information on a cause of death, but were awaiting confirmation on that, too.

The Ramsey County medical examiner's office is assisting in the investigation.
