June 28, 2016 at 5:44AM

An adult woman was shot in the back in north Minneapolis Monday night. Police responding to a 911 call about 11:15 p.m. found the woman in a vehicle in the 1800 block of Penn Avenue North, according to Minneapolis Police Department spokesman John Elder. She was reportedly being taken to the hospital by people she was with, and they called for help from police and ambulance. The location of the shooting is under investigation. The shooting victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in very critical condition, Elder said. Though no one was arrested as of 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, investigators were at the scene to interview witnesses, including the driver of the car in which the injured woman was found.
