A woman was booked into jail Saturday on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death overnight in a Brooklyn Center home, police said.

The victim, whose name hasn't been released, was found about 12:33 a.m. at the home in the 5500 block of Humboldt Avenue with a stab wound to the chest, police said in a news release.

Officers tried to resuscitate him until paramedics arrived and took over; he was rushed to a hospital, where he later died, the release said.

Police had been called to the address on a report of a stabbing, but it was not clear who made the 911 call.

The man and woman were apparently in a long-term relationship but weren't currently living together, according to the release. An argument broke out between the two and the woman was attempting to get the man to leave the house when the stabbing occurred, police said.

She was arrested at the scene and booked into jail pending charges. The Star Tribune does not typically name suspects before charges are filed.
