A woman was in critical condition Friday night after being ejected from the minivan she was driving in a collision that sent two other drivers to the hospital.

Just after 2:30 p.m. Friday, Minneapolis police responded to three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lake Street and Park Avenue. While en route, officers were notified that a woman had been ejected from the van and was being tended to by passersby, said Police Department spokesman John Elder.

The woman was pinned between her minivan, which had rolled on its roof upon impact, and a sedan. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with critical injuries.

Two other drivers involved were also hospitalized with noncritical injuries.

Preliminary information shows that the minivan was traveling east on E. Lake Street when it collided with a car headed north on Park Avenue. An SUV was also involved. An investigation into the cause is ongoing.

The intersection is now back open to traffic.
