Woman dies in 3-vehicle crash in Eagan

September 14, 2012 at 4:09AM

A three-vehicle crash at an Eagan intersection has killed a 68-year-old woman who was riding in a car that turned into the path of an oncoming minivan, authorities said.

The crash occurred shortly after 1:50 p.m. Wednesday at Hwys. 55 and 149, killing Sandra S. Brodin, according to the State Patrol.

Brodin's husband, Dale W. Brodin, 69, who was driving the car, was slightly hurt. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured.

According to the patrol: Dale Brodin began to turn left in his Mini Cooper from eastbound Hwy. 55 onto northbound Hwy. 149 and was struck by a westbound minivan coming through the intersection. The impact pushed Brodin's car into another car sitting at a red light on southbound Hwy. 149.

All vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts, the patrol said, and there is no indication that alcohol played a role in the crash.
