A woman was shot in the back in north Minneapolis Monday night and later died at a hospital.
Police responding to a 911 call about 11:15 p.m. found the woman in a vehicle in the 1800 block of Penn Avenue North, according to Minneapolis Police Department spokesman John Elder.
She was reportedly being taken to the hospital by people she was with, and they called for help from police and ambulance. The location of the shooting is under investigation. The shooting victim died later at Hennepin County Medical Center, Elder said.
Though no one was arrested, investigators were at the scene to interview witnesses, including the driver of the car in which the injured woman was found.
