A 75-year-old woman was run over and killed while attempting to cross a street in New Ulm, authorities said Monday.

Norma K. Flanigan, 75, of St. Cloud, was struck about 8:40 p.m. Sunday by a car driven by Elmer M. Epke, 80, of Courtland, Minn., according to the State Patrol.

Flanigan was walking westbound between 14th and 15th Streets S., when the southbound car hit her, the patrol said. She died at the scene.

"I don't see any information that would indicate she was in a crosswalk" at the time she was struck, said Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said.
