Woman, 73, killed in Andover crash

A 73-year-old woman was killed when a pickup truck crossed an Andover road and struck the van in which she was a passenger on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The woman and the van's driver, a 71-year-old man, both from Andover, were heading south on County Road 7 near 149th Avenue NW. when a pickup going north crossed the centerline and struck the van head on, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the truck was a 26-year-old man from St. Francis.

Both drivers were taken to an area hospital with noncritical injuries. The victim's name has not yet been released.
