A 53-year-old western Minnesota man was charged Wednesday with killing a 65-year-old woman during a late-night altercation in her Granite Falls, Minn., home.

Chad C. Laraby was charged in Yellow Medicine County District Court with second-degree murder in the death of Linda Kay Boehme in her home in the 800 block of 8th Street. Police found her about 1:20 a.m. Monday unconscious on the floor with severe head and facial injuries. She was taken to a hospital and airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Laraby, also of Granite Falls, was arrested and booked into jail midafternoon Monday on suspicion of domestic assault. Less than two hours later, HCMC informed police that the woman had died.

Laraby remains jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Laraby's criminal history in Minnesota includes six convictions for disorderly conduct and additional convictions for trespassing, theft and drunken driving.
