August 6, 2019 at 2:19AM

A 47-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her home in Bloomington, and a man who also lived there has been arrested, police said.

The attack occurred late Sunday at a residence in the 10200 block of Quebec Avenue S., according to Police Chief Jeff Potts.

A female called 911 shortly after 11 p.m. and said her mother was fighting with her boyfriend, emergency dispatch audio revealed.

About 15 minutes later, a police officer in the home told dispatch that the woman was dead after being stabbed in a lung. Her identity has yet to be released.

The chief said a 56-year-old man was arrested and remains jailed on suspicion of second-degree murder. The Star Tribune generally does not identify suspects before they are charged.
