Wolves-Suns today: At home in the Valley of the Sun?

Wolves' matinee caps a big weekend for Minnesota sports teams in Phoenix

Quite a busy extended weekend for Minnesota sports fans in Phoenix wraps up this afternoon with the Wolves-Suns game here at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

The Vikings played the Cardinals in Glendale Thursday night. The Wild and Coyotes followed not far away on Friday.

And now the Wolves finish a quick two-game trip that started Friday in Denver with today's 2:30 p.m. Central time matinee against the Suns.

Maybe it'll feel a bit like Target Center here if fans who came down for the Vikings and Wild games stick around for the Sunday finale.

"Well, I don't want it too much like a home game," Wolves interim head coach Sam Mitchell quipped, referring to his team's 6-4 road record and 3-9 record at Target Center.

The Wolves have veteran point guard Andre Miller back after he missed Friday's loss at Denver to attend to a personal matter.

He returned in time for practice on Saturday and is available to play if needed, which hasn't been often recently because Mitchell has split the point guard time exclusively between Ricky Rubio and Zach LaVine.

Nikola Pekovic continues to work out before games and did so again today. We will see if all that work gets him back at practice for the first time this season by the end of the coming week.

The Suns, meanwhile, are getting veteran center Tyson Chandler back for the first time since Nov. 27 because of a strained hamstring.
