MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Supreme Court plans to review a harassment case brought by University of Wisconsin regents against a former student.

The legal case dates back to 2011 when a Dane County judge issued a restraining order barring Jeff Decker from UW property. The former UW-Stevens Point student has attended public meetings of regents and other UW officials on several campuses to protest university policies on distributing student activity fee funds.

A state appeals court ruled last January that a Madison judge improperly issued a restraining order against Jeff Decker. The 4th District Court of Appeals ruled Decker was legally exercising his constitutional right to protest the use of student fees. The regents appealed to the state Supreme Court.

Wisconsin Public Radio News (http://bit.ly/16PdrWf ) says the high court could hear the case in its 2014 session.
