WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — A Wisconsin Rapids police lieutenant held on possible child enticement charges has been found dead.

Grand Rapids police say the body of 41-year-old Steven Lowe was found in the back of his pickup truck Monday. Wood County Coroner Garry Kronstedt tells WSAW-TV (http://bit.ly/1cvtYEG ) the officer apparently took his own life. An autopsy is expected to be done Tuesday.

Lowe was suspended by Wisconsin Rapids police officials earlier this month and then resigned from the force. Court documents say Lowe is accused of impersonating a teenage girl online to try to get juvenile boys to send him nude pictures.
