A third crash involving a Minnesota motorist on a stretch of central Wisconsin freeway has killed a woman from St. Louis Park.
A funeral is set for Wednesday for Kali Rose Mann, 22, whose pickup struck the rear of a semitrailer truck that had stopped Friday morning on the shoulder of northbound Interstate 39/90/94 near Arlington, Wis., north of Madison.
The semi driver had pulled over to help with a crash moments earlier at that location, according to the State Patrol.
Mann lost control of her pickup before hitting the semi, the patrol said. Speed is considered a factor in the crash, the patrol added.
Mann graduated in 2006 from St. Louis Park High School and from Omaha's Creighton University in 2009. She died at the scene, according to the patrol.
A passenger, Gordon Hicks, 23, also of St. Louis Park, was seriously injured and taken to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
Semi driver Joseph E. Knapstein, 44, of Ogdensburg, Wis., was outside the vehicle and was uninjured, the patrol said.
Last Tuesday at points north along the same interstate, a University of Minnesota student was killed and members of a Maple Grove family were seriously hurt in crashes about 9 miles and one hour apart.
