ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Democrats are looking across the border to Wisconsin for the headline speaker for the party's major fundraising dinner, which is being held in April.

The state DFL announced Wednesday that Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin would be keynote for the Humphrey-Mondale Dinner named for the two former vice presidents. Baldwin is in her first year as Wisconsin's first woman senator. She is also the first openly gay U.S. senator.

Last year, the event's main speaker was former President Bill Clinton.
