SOLON SPRINGS, Wis. — A northern Wisconsin law enforcement officer is on administrative leave after allegations of sexual assault.
According to a Superior police news release, a 27-year-old woman accused Solon Springs Town Constable Gerald Olson of unwanted sexual advances and sexual contact while he was on duty.
Police say Olson picked up the woman who was walking on U.S. Hwy 53 on June 15. He allegedly offered to drive her to Superior but instead went to his home.
The 47-year-old is employed part-time by the Town of Solon Springs, the Village of Solon Springs and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
He's been placed on administrative leave. A constable is the sworn law enforcement officer in some small towns.
The phone rang unanswered Wednesday at a number listed for Olson in Solon Springs.
