Europe is a bargain in winter. For instance, Lufthansa Airline's winter sale offers up savings to Europe, including one-way tickets for as low as $288 to Berlin and as low as $373 to Paris from the Twin Cities. A random search for a ticket from here to Barcelona on Jan. 27, returning Feb. 3, turned up a $702 fare. A similar flight on Delta, for instance, rang up at $676. Just for the record, I chose Barcelona because it has great food, a view of the sea, and temperatures that hover in the 50s, which sure beats 5 below.
