Reports from the smaller local lakes is looking good for the winter ice fishing season. Portage is producing crappies and sunfish all day. Waxworms are the bait of choice.
Fish Hook has been giving up some nice fish early morning and late evening, try shiners or fatheads to get started.
We have had reports only from a few lakes due to small numbers of people going out, caution should still be used on all lakes.
