Winter fashion 2011: Holiday sparkle

It's the season for fashion that shines.

The holiday party season is about to begin, and you know what that means: It's time to start planning your wardrobe. After the ugly Christmas sweater's long reign, dressing up is back in style. This year's trend harks back to 1940s Hollywood glamour, '60s mod a-go-go and '70s disco decadence. Rich metallics, shimmery sequins and luxe fur get an of-the-moment update with body-conscious cuts, animal prints and quirky extras. And don't be afraid to pile on the jewelry -- after all, Christmas comes but once a year.
