If you want outdoor activity Sunday head for the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge headquarters building at 3815 American Blvd. East in Bloomington (very near and northeast of the Mall of America). The refuge is celebrating the 50th anniversary of another refuge, the one that's in the news every now and then when talk turns to "Where are we gonna get more oil?" -- the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. MVNWR's "Arctic Blast" event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can learn about the Alaska refuge at various booths and exhibits. There will be activities for children, including kite making. Wildlife hikes are on the program, and snowshoes will be available on a limited basis. For more information call 952-854-5900 or visit the refuge web site at http://www.fws.gov/midwest/minnesotavalley/
