With one day left in the contest, two longtime seekers found the St. Paul Winter Carnival medallion in a city park on Wednesday. Jake Ingebrigtson and Rob Brass dug up the medallion near a felled tree in Lilydale Regional Park, along the Mississippi River on the city's West Side. It was the 11th day of the hunt. For that, they received $10,000. Ingebrigtson called it the most difficult search yet. He also found the medallion in 2007 after three days. He said there were a few hundred people nearby when he dug up the treasure. "I freaked out," he said. Said Brass: "The next step is for us to find it one more time." The contest, sponsored by the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Fury Motors, has been around since 1952 in conjunction with the winter celebration, which ends Sunday. CHRIS HAVENS
