With fanfare provided by St. Paul Winter Carnival royalty, the 2014 festival's buttons were made public on Saturday during festivities on Grand Avenue.

The buttons, designed by local artist Chad Peterson, depict figures from the Winter Carnival legend (clockwise from top left): Klondike Kate, King Boreas, Aurora Queen of the Snows and Vulcanus Rex.

The new Winter Carnival buttons and other festival merchandise will be available for sale. Button prices are $5 for one and $19 for the collector's pack of all four. They will be available at SuperAmerica, area retailers and on the Winter Carnival website (www.winter-carnival.com).

The carnival runs Jan. 23-Feb. 2.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
