Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield was named the NFC defensive player of the week for his dominating performance in Tuesday's 24-14 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Winfield was credited with nine tackles, two sacks, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. That play came on a sack/strip of Michael Vick, which Winfield returned 45 yards for a touchdown at the end of the first half.
The Vikings sent Winfield on corner blitzes throughout the first half and he was able to disrupt Vick's timing and force him into some poor throws.
