It would be easy to assume that a wine called Hey Mambo Sultry Red ($13, often less) is a gimmick. It also would be way wrong. This is an old-fashioned "field blend" of six grapes: syrah, zinfandel, petite sirah, barbera, alicante bouchet and malbec. The fruit comes to the fore right away, but this baby has balance and a nice backbone and clean finish. It's a tasty, spicy offering that goes well with any roasted meat -- including a certain fowl that many of us will be sampling soon.BILL WARD deals of the week
