Ponzi Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2016

Mother Nature can't seem to decide if it's summer or spring, so it's a good thing there are wines perfectly suited to both seasons. Like the Ponzi Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2016 ($20), a fabulously aromatic white with an array of surpassingly refreshing minty notes and fruit flavors (melon, stone fruit, citrus, apple, etc.). The texture dances between lush and lean, and the finish bursts with sweet/tart "limon" flavors. Here's a "Ponzi scheme" for whatever season the coming weeks bring: Stock up on this Oregon gem. Not least because it pairs in nifty fashion with grilled shrimp, fried chicken, appetizers and almost any salad extant.

Available at Village Wine & Spirits (Lake Elmo), Wayzata muni, France 44, South Lyndale, Thomas and Surdyk's.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
