Wine

It's time to take Michigan seriously on the wine front. The 2012 Chateau Grand Traverse Old Mission Peninsula "Ship of Fools" ($15) is a delightful blend of three grapes whose names begin with pinot: 70 percent blanc, 25 percent gris and 5 percent noir. Yes, some red grapes went into making this white wine, providing not only body but aromatics. Lots of green fruit notes (kiwi, Key lime, green apple) here, plus citrus and melon all the way through a refreshing finish. This wine rocked with a chicken pasta dish the other night, and will play well with either chicken or pasta on their own.

Available at BrightWines, Sentyrz, Tournament, Shorewood, Westside, Falls Liquor, Greenway, Ace (Hopkins), Oaks and others.
