We just received an e-mail reminder from the Twins with a link to this page, which offers the chance to vote on a spruce tree winner -- with these things in mind: Twins Season Ticket Holders throughout Twins Territory submitted videos demonstrating why they deserve to have a black spruce tree from Target Field replanted in their backyard. Judges from the Minnesota Twins have reviewed the video submissions and selected five finalists to be judged by Twins fans across Twins Territory. Deadline to vote is 5 p.m. CST Wednesday, May 4, 2011. The Season Ticket Holder video with the highest number of votes will receive one Target Field black spruce tree. These videos are not only fun and creative, but capture the spirit and passion Season Ticket Holders have for Twins baseball.

The spruce trees, remember, were removed because players complained they provided an unsafe and poor hitting background. If you believe in potential curses, you will note the Twins have scored 34 runs in 10 home games this season (3.4/game) since the trees were evicted after scoring 399 in 81 games last year at home (almost 5 per game).

In any event, someone is going to win a tree. And it might be the creator of "Spruce Lee -- A spruce tree rap." You just never know. Every vote counts.
