Will Kendra be Hank's holiday Baskett case?

Vikings WR Hank Baskett hopes to receive a Minnesota visit from his Los Angeles-based reality show wife over Thanksgiving.

"I was just talking to her a little while ago about getting her out here for Thanksgiving and what not," Baskett told me in an interview recorded a few days after Randy Moss's mouth got him cut.

With the Vikings preparing for a road trip to play D.C.'s NFL team the Sunday after Thanksgiving, I wouldn't think Baskett would have much time for Kendra Wilkinson or their 11-month-old darling baby Hank. Considering how Wilkinson appears to be a lot of work, Baskett's probably better off with her staying on the West Coast (she's a San Diego native, according to Wikipedia) with the baby, family and friends for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Wilkinson has done a fair amount of whining about how her life has been rocked since Baskett was cut by the Eagles and picked up by the Vikings. She reportedly told Life&Style magazine that there were screaming matches and tears when Baskett decided to join the Vikings.

"Not having Hank around hurts," Kendra told the mag. "Moving across the country by myself makes me think of my own mom who raised me and my brother alone. Hank's not going to be there forever, but with him not physically here, I'm a single parent now." Oh, boo-hoo. This is temporary unless there's really a split on the horizon.

During my startribune.com/video with Baskett, he cautioned against believing what's written in gossip mags. But there's no disputing the words coming out of Wilkinson's own mouth on video.

The intro to a recent episode of "Kendra" featured a clip of her whining and crying while using air quotes to remark, "I feel like an NFL wife" when Hank said he got a call from the Vikings.

The Philly lux apartment employee who asked Wilkinson if she had ever considered therapy was onto something. This childish chick needs to rent some reality.

Wilkinson would probably be shocked to hear that many people who have been transferred to the Twin Cities love it so much they stay. Yeah, it can get cold, but nobody in the Wilkinson-Baskett household is homeless. We have skyways to deal with the cold, underground and heated garages. There are even productions crews who can shoot video of Wilkinson going out and creating a stir when she needs the adulation.

While I've tried to appreciate Wilkinson's realness -- overlooking her appalling interest in taking it off for Playboy and shallow preoccupation regarding whether moms can be sexy -- Kendra doesn't have a clue.

Wilkinson's fake breasts out-punted her coverage when she landed this dreamboat. He comes much closer to being one of People's Most Beautiful People than the prosaic looks that got her a nod. I am not suggesting that she needs to come to Minnesota to protect her marriage because there are hoochie mommas everywhere, and there is nothing less appealing than a man who needs to be watched. Is there, Brett? But Wilkinson needs to appreciate that Baskett, at least on TV, seems to love her and tolerates her ridiculousness rather well. Maybe it's their varied, satisfying sex life, which she reportedly manages to keep amped up even long distance, as I'll write about in my Thursday newspaper column. Maybe it's their love of charity work, as mentioned to me by Baskett.

Whatever it is, Wilkinson needs to get a grip. They should be saving their money by living in one place because Baskett's career in the NFL isn't going to last forever (although he's polished and well-spoken enough to be on ESPN) and neither is interest in seeing Wilkinson scantily or un-clad.

Somebody else's tacky behavior is waiting in wings to be of greater interest to E! viewers. So get your hips to Minnesota and feign interest in your husband's job some weekend soon. Baskett claims you have a lot of fans in Minnesota from "appearances" you once made here.
