The Metropolitan Division-leading Red Wings are 3-2-3 in their past eight games and coming off a 3-2 victory over Nashville. Minnesota is 5-3-3 in its past 11 games against Detroit and has earned a point in 10 of the past 12 meetings at home (4-2-6).

Players to watch: Wild G Darcy Kuemper may start after G Devan Dubnyk cut his right arm in Sunday's practice. Kuemper is 4-0-2 with a 1.26 goals-against average, .947 save percentage and one shutout this month. RW Jason Zucker has three goals in the past six games. D Ryan Suter has scored 25 points in 54 career games against the Red Wings. Center Mikko Koivu has 19 points in 28 games against them. Red Wings G Petr Mrazek will start his 20th game. He is 11-6-3 with a 2.29 goals-against average and .924 save percentage. C Henrik Zetterberg leads Detroit in scoring and has 38 points in 38 games against the Wild. Center Pavel Datsyuk has 28 points in 41 games against the Wild. RW Gustav Nyquist is second on the Red Wings with 12 goals.

Numbers: The past six games between the Wild and Red Wings in St. Paul have been decided by one goal. … The Red Wings rank 15th in the NHL with 2.60 goals per game and 2.54 goals allowed per game.

Injuries: Wild LW Zach Parise (lower body) was hurt in Sunday's practice but is expected to play. Red Wings center Dylan Larkin (upper body), who leads NHL rookies with 13 goals, and D Jonathan Ericsson (upper body) practiced Sunday but are doubtful. LW Drew Miller (broken jaw), LW Teemu Pulkkinen (shoulder), D Kyle Quincey (ankle) and RW Johan Franzen (concussion) are out.
