Wild, pre-game

Theodore in goal, and a couple wingers are banged up

January 9, 2011 at 9:36PM

Greetings. It's about an hour and a half to faceoff. Youngblood here, with Russo getting a much-deserved day away from this blistering hot team.

There was no morning skate today, so pre-game notes are almost nil. But, as Russo first tweeted, it will be Jose Theodore in goal for the second straight day and fifth game overall. The team had considered giving him the day off and playing Anton Khudobin instead.

Meanwhile, it appears Eric Nystrom came out of the Pittsburgh game -- a very physical affair -- a bit banged up. That means that if he and Miettinen cannot play the Wild would be a forward short for tonight's game against Dallas. I think one of the two will play.

I'll get back to you via twitter -- bloodstrib -- with the scratches and lineups when they come out
