Eastern power is on a hot streak

Preview: As the Wild tries to win consecutive games for the first time since Dec. 11 and 13, Pittsburgh comes to St. Paul on a five-game win streak, its longest this season. The game begins a string of five in a row against Eastern Conference foes for the Wild, which lost 2-1 at Pittsburgh 11 days ago.

Players to watch: Wild F Zach Parise has nine points (three goals, six assists) in his past nine games, including two assists in Saturday's victory at Winnipeg. Penguins G Matt Murray has won his past five starts, stopping 165 of 172 shots.

Numbers: The Wild is 0-2-1 in its past three games at Xcel. It has not lost three in a row in St. Paul since March 23-28, 2017, a span of 60 home games. ... The Penguins are tied with Tampa Bay for the longest active win streak in the NHL and have outscored opponents 18-5 in the five victories.

Injuries: Wild D Matt Dumba (torn pectoral muscle) is out, and D Nick Seeler (upper-body injury) is day to day. Penguins D Justin Schultz (leg) is out; F Bryan Rust (lower-body injury) and D Olli Maatta (lower-body injury) are day to day.
