Wild opens season Oct. 4 in Colorado; home opener is Oct. 6 against Vegas

The Stanley Cup runners-up will be first on the Xcel Energy Center slate for the Wild, with the rest of the NHL schedule announced Thursday.

NHL teams will release their schedules on Thursday, but the Wild announced Wednesday its home opener will be on Saturday, Oct. 6 against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The season opener will be on Thursday, Oct. 4, in Colorado.

NHL teams are preparing for Friday's first round of the NHL draft in Dallas.
