Wild looks sharper in pregame skate; Zidlicky update

Wild news

February 1, 2011 at 5:38PM

Morning from the X. Real quick blog because there's little news.

With 20 players on the active roster, obviously no lineup changes and Nik Backstrom's back in goal. With a two-game road trip beginning tomorrow, the Wild may call up an extra or two. But Houston's at home and the Wild's going to Denver and Phoenix, so if there's a quick need for a callup, the Wild can go that route too.

Coach Todd Richards said the Wild looked much sharper today. If you read the NHL clips package today, about every coach in the league complained yesterday that the players weren't sharp. But as Richards joked, there are a couple good "tans."

Richards talked Marek Zidlicky yesterday and he said the shoulder's getting close. The number could change, but the Wild's hoping he's two weeks from practicing.

Talk to you later.
