Preview: Saturday's game matches two teams heading in opposite directions. The Wild has won five of its past seven games, while the Red Wings were 2-9-3 in their past 14 heading into Friday's game at Winnipeg.

Players to watch: Wild D Jared Spurgeon has three goals and four assists in the past five games. Red Wings D Mike Green rejoined the lineup Friday at Winnipeg after missing a month because of a foot injury; Detroit was 3-14-5 without him. Luke Glendening scored a shorthanded goal Friday.

Numbers: The Red Wings have eight one-goal regulation losses, most in the NHL. The Wild's penalty kill is ranked third in the NHL (84.2 percent) and is clicking at 88.6 percent on home ice.

Injuries: Wild D Matt Dumba (torn pectoral muscle) and F Eric Fehr (lower-body injury) are out. Detroit D Danny DeKeyser (hand) and D Trevor Daley (foot) also are out, and F Michael Rasmussen (lower-body injury) is day-to-day.
