Widespread Dense Fog in the Midwest

The day will start out on a foggy note across a vast portion of the Midwesttoday. Dense fog has developed from Oklahoma northward through Iowa andeastward into Ohio. The fog will reduce visibility below 1/4 of a mile to nearzero in spots this morning. This widespread dense fog will lead to treacheroustravel in cities and towns including Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Des Moines,St. Louis and Indianapolis for much of the morning.In areas where overnight temperatures dropped below freezing, freezing fogcould create icy patches on roadways as well. Those traveling in an area fromeastern Nebraska and eastern Kansas through northern Ohio this morning shouldexercise additional caution.
