The rumors are true. Whole Foods is coming to downtown Minneapolis.

Janet Moore reports that the Austin, Texas based grocery chain has confirmed they will be moving into the former Jaguar dealership at 222 Hennepin Ave.

When it's finished in 2013, the store will sit beneath more than 280 luxury apartments. They will be built into two interconnected, six-story buildings, according to planning documents filed with the city.

As we have previously reported, a Whole Foods will be just the latest in a series of high-profile changes occuring along Hennepin Avenue.
