Who's in: Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, businessman Herman Cain, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson

Who's likely to run: Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman (who is expected to formally announce next week), Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Who's on the fence: Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Who's out: Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and businessman Donald Trump.
